BASIC NEEDS

Assisting individuals and families in meeting their basic needs in times of crisis.

Defining The Issue

In hard economic times, there has been a significant increase in individuals and families needing immediate financial help, shelter, food and other basic needs assistance.

The Challenge

  •     Poverty rates have increased greatly over the past 10 years.
  •     37,000 individuals live in poverty.
  •     Another 40,000 are low-income and struggle to make ends meet.

As a caring community, Anderson unites together to help those in need. Dollars raised through the United Way are invested in local non-profit programs that provide emergency food, shelter, utility and other assistance.
