4 WAYS TO MAKE A LEGACY GIFT TO UNITED WAY OF ANDERSON COUNTY:

NOW: SAVE ON TAXES

1. Gifts of Stock

Avoid capital gains taxes by donating appreciated stock.

2. Gifts from your IRA

You can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA if you are 70.5 years of age. The gift can be up to $100,000 annually. You can use a QCD to qualify for your Required Minimum Distribution (RMDs) to United Way to help you avoid income tax. RMDs are the amount you must withdraw from your IRA at 73 years old.

LATER: FUTURE GIVING AND SAVING

3. Make a Gift from a Family or Community Foundation

Many donors and families have private family foundations for charitable gifts , or they make gifts through a designated fund from a Community Foundation or Donor Advised Fund. Simply request a grant be made to the United Way of Anderson County to support your intentions.

4. Include United Way in your will (a percentage of your total estate or a set dollar amount)

Creating a legacy ensures that we can enhance the lives of our community members for generations to come.
